Welcome to the 2015 Valentine's Day Blog Hop! This fun idea was created by The Language Arts Classroom, Faulkner's Fast Five, and The Literary Maven. Be sure to check out all of the blogs to get to know the sellers a bit better, but also to access some awesome resources that would be helpful for your classroom!
SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT TEACHING:
Holidays! (I kid, I kid - and if you're a teacher, you know that those 'holidays' are often spent planning, marking, and catching up on those emails!) I LOVE when my students come back from their final work experience placement and seeing how they have matured over their time away. I love hearing about their experiences and what they learned and can appreciate about the job/career they just encountered.
A RESOURCE THAT I LOVE USING:
One of my favorite ways to start off a class is using writing prompts. Not only does it allow your students to settle in, but also gives them an opportunity to express themselves via a writing option. Check out my FREE Valentine's Day Writing Prompts. They are a great way to not only establish routine, but a fun way to bring some holiday spirit into your classroom.
Check out these FREE Valentine's Day School Supply Tags from Brain Waves Instruction! I came across this item on Pinterest the other day and loved it! An easy and inexpensive way to treat your students during the month of February.
SOMETHING I WOULD LOVE TO DO:
Travel to New York at Christmas!! If you know me, you know I LOVE Christmas! I can't wait until the day I can see New York during the most wonderful time of year. How do I know what Christmas would be like in NY if I've never been there? The Home Alone film really 'sold' New York. Yes, I'm serious! I can't wait to experience NY for everything it has to offer.
A BLOG POST THAT I'VE READ THAT I LOVE:
I came across this fun post from Secondary Sara titled, "Teach a 5k: What my Fitbit told me about teaching". It was such a fun read that it inspired me to want to go out and buy a Fitbit!! Check it out.
